Day 1

Day 1 of the blog, Day 77 on Slimming World.

Weigh in this morning was quite surprising. I lost 0.6kg even though I've not really tried that much, I put it all down to the amount of water I have been drinking. However it happened, today I officially got my Club 10 Award!

Today's meals have been

Breakfast - 1 Banoffee Alpen Light Bar on the way to work with 1 apple and 1 orange in a coconut muller light once I got in. Also, someone bought samosas in as they are leaving so I spent 5 syns on one of those.

Lunch - Left over cottage pie (mince, onion, mushrooms, peas, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and herbs with a carrot, swede and potato mash. I also had to add some low low cheese (HEA) to the mash because I put WAY too much white pepper in it.). It doesn't look like much but it is sooooooo filling!

Dinner - Fried rice with veg. Matt wanted chinese so i made some healthy egg fried rice. I couldn't really be bothered since it was just for me and it wasn't that great. Stole 3 of his chicken balls (9 sins i think) too.

Snacks - 1 spring roll 6.5 syns..... i just couldn't keep away!

I think I finished the day on around 20 syns. Not too bad, I do use Thursday as a treat day since it's the day I weigh in.

Introduction

Hello hello hello, how are you doing? Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. I am going to assume you are either just starting your Slimming World journey or are struggling and looking for new food ideas. Whichever it is, well done on all you have achieved thus far.

Introduction

I joined Slimming World on 14th April 2016 after years of not being able to shift the weight I had gained since starting my office job 7 years previous. I was in work late one night about to leave when I was tagged in a SW recipe that was published on Facebook. After looking around the group for a short while I decided to take the plunge, I jumped on the scales, signed up and paid my money so there was no turning back. I weighed in at 110.2Kg.

On a side note, I weigh myself in Kilos because I know what stones look like. I know what my body looked like when I weighed 10 stone, I know what it looked like when I weighed 12 stone. Obviously i know what my body looks like now, and I know what 110Kg is in stones but i don't want it shouted in my face every time I step on the scales. It makes it less real this way which is what I need.

I have been doing slimming world now for 11 weeks and I have had some great losses. For the last few weeks i have been really struggling to stay focused, i have made sure not to put weight on but haven't been actively trying to get it off wither. To put me back on track (and hopefully keep me there) I decided to start this blog. Maybe i'll help someone, maybe no one will ever read it apart from my mum and me, I don't mind i'm doing it for myself.

If you use Facebook I highly recommend joining the SYN FREE/ LOW SYN RECIPES group. It has helped me a lot and the people there are wonderful.

Plans For This Blog

So what will this blog include? The plan is to log all the foods I eat each day, take photo's and share them, where possible, with any recipes that I may have used. My week goes from Thursday to Wednesday as Thursday morning is when I weigh in.

I will aim to post daily (at the start at least, it may be a big ask) then each Thursday there will be a weigh in and an update on how I feel about it. I will talk about any trends I have noticed, any milestones I may have had and try to keep the daily updates about meals only.

I'm not perfect, I hardly know what I am doing but I will gladly help anyone that needs anything. If you have any recipes you think are worth trying let me know, i'm always looking for new things to try.

Again, thank you for being here and sharing my journey.

Ruth
